I’ve been super organized since I was a kid. I’ve kept a neat and tidy recipe binder with all my favorite real food recipes for 7+years but a couple years ago I was stumped and frustrated.
Thousands of recipes are created and posted every day on the internet! How do you keep recipes you have from your grandmother, cookbooks, blogs, e-mails, newsletters, magazines, and other random places organized so you can actually find them when you want to make them?
Well, it all came together when I started using Evernote. If you’re trying to figure out how to stash recipes all in one place, Evernote is the tool for you. Now, I have no ties with Evernote whatsoever (other than the 1,500+ recipes and articles stored in my account)! Evernote is just an awesome web-based application that allows you to store pretty much anything that you can take a picture of on your computer, tablet, smart phone, or other electronics. Everything syncs automatically so your recipes are where ever you want and need them.
In a nutshell, here’s how to use Evernote to store your favorite recipes (and new favorites too) to make eating a healthy diet full of real food nutrition a lot easier:
1. Download Evernote on your computer, smart phone, and any other device you may want to use to pull up a recipe and create an account (its free!)
2. Take a photo of a paper copy recipe or clip text from e-mails, newsletters, websites, or blogs and import to Evernote (its easy, I promise)
3. Tag your “note” with identifiers like “dessert”, “breakfast”, “side dishes”, “gluten free”, or however you’d like to identify your recipes
4. To find a recipe in Evernote, simply do a search if you know what you’re looking for or click on a tag like “dessert” to browse through your saved recipes (Evernote will actually search the text in pictures or scanned pages too!)

Having your recipes nicely organized will help you save space, time, energy, frustration, clutter, and a whole bunch of yummy whole food recipes all in one place. Not tech savvy? The binder method works well too. I still use both!
Leave a comment if you’ve used Evernote to sort and store recipes or if you’re going to give it a try! I love to hear from you.
